Critical Home Repair program brings Doug back home. |
|
|
|
Homeowner Doug had lived in his home for more than 50 years when a chimney fire this winter left the house unsafe to occupy. Our Critical Home Repair program stepped in, working quickly to complete the emergency repairs required by the city and make it possible for Doug to return home. In addition to repairing the roof and damaged chimney, we ensured that all electrical, plumbing, and gas systems were brought up to code and safe for use. We also repaired the damaged ceiling and installed new flooring in the kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms affected by water damage from roof leaks and broken pipes. Just a few weeks ago, Doug was able to move back home. He is beyond grateful—and has true peace of mind—knowing his home is safe once again. |

Join as an individual or team for peer to peer fundraising, then a day of building on a Tuesday or Friday in May (or one of our two special Saturdays). You'll receive weekly tips and inspiring stories to help you reach your goals with games and prizes for top fundraisers. Your build day will begin with hot coffee and snacks and a Women Build T-shirt, proceed to hands on construction lessons with lunch provided, and finish with a great sense of accomplishment from this rewarding experience. |
