What is Women Build?
Women volunteering to make a positive impact on a family’s future.
Women helping women. A day of building, learning, and camaraderie in a collaborative and friendly atmosphere. Any woman who wants to add a new tool to their tool belt of construction skills is invited to participate in a day of building at one of our active build sites. No experience is necessary and you will work under the guidance of construction professionals. You will make a lasting impact through this rewarding experience.

Women helping women. Since 1991, Women Build volunteers from all walks of life have come together to build stronger, safer communities.
Each year the Women Build community shows up to help more women overcome the barriers to homeownership, spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women, and address those issues head on through the power of women across the community. At Habitat, we know that stable affordable housing is transformative for all families.
As a locally supported non-profit, the work we do is only possible through support from our local community. Join us in making a difference and building a brighter, more stable and secure future for families in need.
How to Participate?
Schedule a private Women Team Build Day
- For those who want to support Women Build but prefer not to particpate in peer-to-peer fundraising.
- Put together a team of up to 10 volunteers with a minimum donation of $3000 per team.
- Schedule on any available Tuesday or Friday in 2026
- Reach out to Brenda at 978-681-8858 x 3, or brenda@essexcountyhabitat.org to schedule your day!
What your day will be like:
A full-day commitment is expected of all who choose to volunteer. You’ll start the morning with an orientation and group photo, then start work on your assigned task at 8:30 am, break for lunch at noon, finish at 3:30 pm and then clean up.
Be prepared to work outdoors – rain or shine or snow, so please dress accordingly. Bring a hat and work gloves if you have them. Wear boots or sneakers – definitely no open-toed shoes.
We know you’ll enjoy this very rewarding experience that will make a lasting impact for women and the community!
