Juana is a single, hard-working mother, who has raised her children by herself and strives to give her sons a better place to live. These young boys and their mother live in a very small attic, on a busy city street, on top of a poorly maintained triple-story. The attic has cold air pouring in from gaps in the windows and doors. The space is covered with mold, especially in the bathroom, due to unmaintained fixtures. The biggest issue the family has to deal with are bedbugs and mice, having had to throw away an infested mattresses.

A brighter future is on the horizon for Juana and her boys as they have been selected to become a Habitat homeowner.
